The Shambles is a narrow mediaeval street of overhanging timber-framed shops, and I like showing how close the upper floors actually lean toward each other, which photographs rarely capture at street level. I grew up nearby and spent years finding my way through the snickelways, the narrow lanes that connect the old city's main streets. I studied history locally before starting to guide on video. I keep a slow pace through the narrower lanes so the camera has time to settle.
