I live out towards Shottery and most of my sessions start on the lane behind Anne Hathaway's Cottage before the town has properly woken up. I like showing the thatch and the timber frame close up on camera, then turning to point out how the orchard behind it still follows the same field boundary it had centuries ago. My own family is from Gujarat, and I have noticed visitors ask sharper questions once they realise a Stratford guide does not have to match the postcards. I keep the pace slow and answer everything as it comes up rather than rushing on to the next stop.
