I studied ancient history and the Roman Stadium is still the site I most enjoy explaining, since its excavated seating sits directly beneath Plovdiv's main pedestrian street, visible through a section of exposed pavement. On camera I show the exposed seating first before pointing out how the modern street continues directly above the rest of the stadium. I keep a warm, informative pace and welcome questions about how much of the stadium remains unexcavated. Video suits an excavation like this particularly well, since the camera can trace the curve of ancient seating a quick glance would miss.
