I worked in the Meatpacking District's bars for most of my twenties, back when a few of the old slaughterhouse buildings still stood empty before the current restaurants moved in. On camera I walk Kødbyen after dark, pointing out which buildings kept their original industrial signage and which nightlife venues opened in the last few years. I explain how Vesterbro shifted from a red-light district to its current mix within a couple of decades. I keep the tone relaxed and let the district's noise come through naturally.
