Grüezi. I spent fifteen years as a compliance officer at a bank on the Paradeplatz, which tells you something about Zurich, and in 2016 I decided I would rather talk to people than read transaction reports. I am a certified Swiss tour guide, a member of a guild that marches in the Sechseläuten parade every April, and a very average rower on the lake. My family has lived in Zurich since the 1700s, and my grandfather was a confectioner in the Niederdorf, so I know a thing or two about chocolate. Zurich has a reputation for being dull and expensive. It is certainly expensive. It is not dull once you know about the Reformation, the Dada artists, the guild houses and the lake. I am precise, I keep time and I explain prices honestly, because I know Swiss prices are a shock. I live in Hottingen with my wife and our dog, a very calm Bernese.
