Ricardo Alves

I worked at the Gulbenkian Foundation's gardens for several years before guiding, so I know which paths stay shaded even in August and which sculptures hide among the trees rather than standing in the open. On camera I walk the gardens first, then move out into the wider Avenidas Novas grid, explaining how this part of Lisbon was planned in the early 20th century as the city grew beyond its old centre. I keep the garden sessions slow and the street sessions faster, matching each place's own rhythm. Eight years in, the gardens still feel like the quieter half of my week.
