I have worked around the Mercato delle Vettovaglie for years, so my sessions usually start there, camera close on the covered stalls before moving out into the arcaded streets of Borgo Stretto nearby. I explain how the market has run in roughly the same spot for well over a century, and point out a few regional products worth knowing even without tasting them yourself. I like keeping the pace lively through the market itself, then slowing down once we reach the quieter arcades. My camera stays handheld throughout, since a tripod would only get in the way there.
