Rikke Fogh

I studied literature and have guided sessions built around Hans Christian Andersen's Odense for almost a decade. On camera I walk through his childhood house first, pointing out which rooms and objects are original rather than later additions, before continuing into the surrounding old town where several of the half-timbered houses predate his own lifetime. I explain how much of his fiction drew on details from these same narrow streets. I keep my pace unhurried in the museum rooms, since they reward a slower look than the street outside. Video guiding here means moving between a writer's life and the town that shaped it.
