My family has sold cheese at San Benedetto market for two generations, so the market's daily rhythm is something I grew up inside rather than learned as an outsider. On camera I walk between the stalls in the morning, pointing out the different levels of the market and explaining why it counts among the largest covered markets in Europe. I like keeping sessions early, since the fish level especially is at its best and loudest before most of the city wakes up. I have guided here for four years and still learn something from the older vendors most weeks.
