I studied urban planning and became fascinated by how differently Naples reads once you leave the old centre for Chiaia's straighter, more orderly streets. On camera at Piazza del Plebiscito I choose the quietest hour I can find, since the square empties out completely in a way that changes how the colonnade reads on screen. In the evening I sometimes take a shorter call from Chiaia instead, describing how the same streets fill up with a different, younger crowd once the shops along them close for the night.
