Robert Schäfer

I studied art history with a focus on Baroque architecture, and the Zwinger is still the building I most enjoy walking people through, since its courtyard was designed as a stage for festivals rather than simply a museum entrance. On camera I move slowly around the courtyard before going into any detail on the galleries inside, since the shape of the space says a lot on its own. I also guide a shorter session on the Semperoper, rebuilt twice after fire and war, which I think tells its own story about the city's persistence. I keep a steady, fairly detailed pace and welcome specific questions on either building.
