I studied at the university whose Old College courtyard I now film most weeks, so I know that building better than almost anywhere else in the city. I've been guiding for eight years, long enough to watch the Cowgate's street art change completely more than once. On camera I try to hold on a mural long enough for the detail to register, since a quick pan loses everything that makes it worth looking at. Video sessions have taught me to slow down generally, since the temptation to keep moving is strong and the best moments are usually when you stop.
