I trained as a guide focused on Bucharest's early twentieth-century history, and the Arcul de Triumf is still the monument I most enjoy explaining, since it was rebuilt several times before settling into the form modelled loosely on Paris's arch. On camera I keep back far enough to take in the whole structure before pointing out the reliefs commemorating the First World War. I keep a warm, informative pace and welcome questions comparing it with its Parisian namesake. Video suits a triumphal arch well, since the camera can hold the full monument in frame in a way a close-up photograph cannot.
