Rubén Torres

I worked five years behind a bar in La Noria before I started filming the same streets for people watching from home instead of walking them myself. Carnival is the reason I do this at all, since explaining it properly takes more than a photo ever could. On a call I keep the phone at chest height and let the noise of the street carry as much as my own voice does. I reply fast and I like short, direct answers over long explanations, which fits a neighbourhood that never really slows down long enough for one.
