My family has shopped at the Campo de Ourique market for three generations, so I know most of the stallholders by name before I ever switch the camera on. On a video session I go early, while the fish and flower stands are still being set up, then later walk the neighbourhood's quiet residential grid where most visitors never wander. I let the stallholders answer questions on camera rather than sticking only to my own script. Ten years of guiding has not changed how much I enjoy that first hour in the market.
