I have guided the stretch between the Round Tower and Strøget for years, long enough to know exactly which shopfronts on Europe's longest pedestrian street have survived since I started. On camera I climb the tower's spiral ramp first, explaining why it was built without stairs to allow horse-drawn carts up to the old observatory. I then walk part of Strøget below, pointing out a few older buildings tucked between newer shopfronts. I keep the pace brisk on the street itself, since it gets busy fast. Filming from the tower first gives a useful sense of the city before the crowd underneath it.
