I have lived my whole life on Ortigia and cross the bridge onto the island most days without thinking twice about it. On camera I like starting at the Temple of Apollo, the oldest Greek temple ruins on the island, since most visitors walk straight past its low stone base without realising what it is. From there I usually walk the perimeter of Ortigia, pointing out where the old walls and later fortifications meet the sea. I keep my pace easy, since the island is small enough that rushing defeats the purpose.
