Selin Kaya

I was born in Zurich to a family from Izmir and grew up in Kreis 4, near the Langstrasse, which used to be the red-light district and is now the part of Zurich with the best bars and the worst reputation. I studied at the Zurich University of the Arts, worked as a stage manager at the Schauspielhaus, and started guiding when the theatre cut my hours. I know the nightlife of Kreis 4 and Kreis 5 from both sides of the bar. I switch between Swiss German, Turkish, English and French without noticing. I am direct and I like people who ask a lot of questions. My mother still thinks I should become a lawyer. Now I show Zurich live on a video call, phone in hand, and I answer questions as they come.
