I have guided hikers up the Schlossberg for over a decade, long before the current cable car made the climb easy for everyone else. On camera I like reaching the viewing tower just as the light drops low over the edge of the Black Forest, since the tree line turns almost black against an orange sky. I grew up in a family that has farmed near the forest for generations, so I can usually explain what is growing on any slope we pass. I run a relaxed session and never rush the last stretch to the tower.
