The Opera de Nice is a building most visitors photograph without knowing what is behind the facade, so I like starting there before moving on to the gardens of Villa Masséna nearby. On camera I try to give both buildings the context they are usually denied, a working opera house rather than a backdrop, and a private villa's garden rather than just another park. I trained in cultural heritage before guiding, which shows in how carefully I check a date before saying it out loud. I speak French and English, and I keep a steady, unhurried pace throughout.
