Simone Barone

I studied architecture, and Santa Maria Novella's marble facade is where I spend most of my time, explaining how it combines a Gothic lower section with an early Renaissance upper half designed generations later. I hold the camera on the geometric marble inlay, since the mathematics behind the design is easy to miss without it pointed out. My sessions run close to the facade throughout, since the church sits right beside the main station and the square gets busy fast. I keep my explanations precise rather than general.
