About Simone
My family has had a stall in Testaccio Market for three generations, so food is genuinely the district's whole story as far as I am concerned. On camera at the market I move between stalls I have known my whole life, and at Monte Testaccio I explain how a hill made entirely of broken ancient pottery ended up beneath the bars and clubs built into it today. I like showing how the neighbourhood's food history and its nightlife are really the same story told at different times of day.
