Dia dhuit. I grew up in Carna in Connemara, where Irish is still the language of the kitchen and the pub, and English was something we learned at school. I worked for years as a tour leader for a coach company and got tired of rushing people past the best places, so now I keep my groups to eight and stop where I want. I speak Irish, English and French. I know the Burren flowers, the Connemara ponies and the names of most of the sheep farmers between Clifden and Maam Cross. These days you can join me from anywhere: I walk Galway live with my phone and answer questions on the spot.
