Calatrava's auditorium is the first thing most visitors photograph in Santa Cruz, and I still find new angles on its curved roof after years of walking past it. I trained in art history and worked front of house at TEA before guiding became my main job. On camera I like framing a building from underneath rather than head on, because the shapes read completely differently from that angle. English and Spanish cover almost every viewer I get. I keep my calls slow around a single structure rather than rushing between several, since one building explained properly beats five explained badly.
