Sofie Andersen

I moved from Aarhus to Barcelona in 2014 to finish a master's degree in urban planning at the UPC and never left. My thesis was about the conversion of Poblenou from textile district to the 22@ technology zone, so I tend to see the city through its buildings, its zoning plans and the people who were pushed out along the way. I live in Poblenou, two blocks from the Rambla del Poblenou. My tours are small and slightly nerdy. On the street art walk we look at murals, but we also look at the chimneys, the old Can Framis factory and the empty lots that are still waiting for developers. My evening tour in the Raval covers bars that have survived gentrification and a few newer ones run by people who grew up there. I speak English, Danish and Spanish, and I am still working on my Catalan. These days I guide Barcelona live on video: I walk the streets with my phone and answer your questions as we go.
