I have shopped at Mercado de la Cebada every week for most of my adult life, long before I ever thought about guiding on camera. On the walk I move stall to stall the way I actually shop, and on a shorter call I talk through La Latina's vermouth bars, which ones pour it from the barrel and which only claim to. I worked briefly for a small vermouth producer, so I know slightly more about the drink than most locals bother to learn. I keep the tone practical rather than romantic, since this is daily life for me more than a special occasion.
