I am finishing a degree in art history, and the Baptistery is the stop I look forward to most, since I can hold the camera still inside and let its famous acoustics do some of the explaining themselves. I walk viewers around the Romanesque arches of the cathedral first, pointing out details that later churches across Tuscany borrowed directly from this one. My sessions move slowly through the square rather than rushing to the tower everyone already knows. I try to keep my camera at eye level as much as I can, since a high or low angle changes how a building actually reads.
