I have sailed the Trave and the stretch of Baltic coast beyond it since I was a child, so guiding by video from the water still feels closer to a hobby than a job. On camera I follow the river around the old town island first, explaining how the water almost entirely encircles Lübeck's medieval core. I then move out to Travemünde, showing the lighthouse and the beach in whichever season I am filming, since both look different enough to be worth separate sessions. I keep my pace slow along the water, since the light off the Baltic changes faster than most other things I could point a camera at.
