Veselina Petkova

I studied art history with a focus on Nessebar's medieval churches, and I still find something new in the layers of wall painting at St Stephen's every time I look closely. On camera I move slowly across the painted surfaces, explaining which sections were added centuries apart from each other. I also spend time at Christ Pantocrator, where the patterned brick and ceramic set into the walls rewards a slow, careful angle rather than a quick pass. I keep sessions detailed and unhurried, and I welcome long questions from anyone genuinely curious about Byzantine church decoration.
