Vincent Rey

I grew up in Carouge and still live a few streets from its main square, so the district's Italian-style courtyards are the part of Geneva I know best. On camera I walk through a few of the quieter courtyards, explaining how the town was built to a Sardinian plan before it ever became part of Geneva. I like pointing out the small workshops still operating behind the same facades that have stood for two centuries. I keep my pace relaxed, since Carouge rewards wandering more than a fixed route. I answer questions about the district's unusual history throughout.
