I grew up near Aladzha Monastery, so the cliff it is carved into has been part of my view since childhood rather than something I discovered as an adult. On camera I show the site from the courtyard and the cave openings from outside, since the narrow monastic cells themselves are too tight for filming properly. I explain how monks lived carved into this rock until the Ottoman period reshaped the coast's monastic life. I also take questions on Varna's wider layered history, having read most of what is published on it locally. I keep sessions calm and thorough.
