About this tour
This walk covers daily life in classical Athens through the Ancient Agora and Kerameikos, from the Temple of Hephaestus to the Sacred Gate. You see the temple still standing almost complete, the rebuilt colonnade of the Stoa of Attalos where voting tokens and ostraka are explained, and Kerameikos, the old potters' quarter and cemetery at the city's edge. It follows the route ordinary Athenians once used towards Eleusis.
The call opens with a sound check, then walks the Agora before heading out to Kerameikos, with time to look closely at each ruin along the way. Questions come as the walk goes, and a short list of the sites and objects mentioned follows by message afterwards.
This suits anyone interested in how ordinary people lived in ancient Athens rather than only its temples. It also suits those who have seen the Acropolis and want the everyday history that surrounds it.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
