The Vrbas riverside park
Highlights
- A calm stretch of the Vrbas
- A shaded path through the city park
- Cyclists and walkers sharing the route
- The same river, calmer here
- A quiet outdoor session
About this tour
This session walks the riverside park along the Vrbas, the calm stretch of the river running through the city centre. You see the shaded path with cyclists and walkers sharing it, then the river's edge itself, explained against the faster water further upstream. It shows the gentler side of a river also known locally for rafting.
We start on the path with a sound check, then move to the river's edge for the second stop, taking questions about the water and the park's use through the seasons. A short note follows once we finish.
It suits anyone who wants a calmer, outdoor session away from the city's monuments. It also suits an early or late booking, when the park is at its quietest.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Banja Luka before heading out.
-
The park path 15 min
The camera follows the path through Mladen Stojanović City Park, and I point out the mature trees and cyclists sharing the route.
-
The river's edge 15 min
We reach the Vrbas itself, and I explain how the same river turns faster and rougher further upstream.
-
Your questions 7 min
Time to ask anything about Banja Luka: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Boska herbal liqueur and Stari Grad, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Sarajevo time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
