  • Six turrets giving the house its name

  • Modernista architecture built around a corner
  • One building's unusual, spiky silhouette
  • A quick, striking architecture stop

About this tour

This short session covers Casa de les Punxes, a Modernista building known for its six pointed turrets. You see the full turreted facade and then, from a corner, how the building's irregular plot shaped its faceted design. It is a focused look at one unusual building rather than a wider avenue.

I circle partway around the building so its shape reads properly from more than one angle, explaining the design as we go. Questions are welcome throughout, and I send a short note once we finish.

This suits anyone with a short window who still wants one striking architectural stop. It also pairs well with a session on the Illa de la Discòrdia further down the avenue.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Barcelona before heading out.

  2. Turreted Facade 15 min

You see the building's six pointed turrets, giving it the name Casa de les Punxes, meaning the house of spikes.

  3. Corner Views 15 min

Walking around one corner, the camera shows how the building's irregular plot shaped its unusual, faceted design.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Barcelona: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Escalivada and Barceloneta, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
