Torre Agbar, from the Glòries roundabout
Highlights
- A curved tower still dividing opinion
- Perforated facade seen from the roundabout
- A square being rebuilt into a park
- Contemporary Barcelona's most argued-over building
- Modern architecture, explained plainly
About this tour
This session looks at Torre Agbar from the Glòries roundabout, one of Barcelona's more debated modern landmarks. You see the tower's curved, perforated facade and then the wider square being reshaped into a park around it. It is a quick, honest look at a building people still argue about.
I stay at street level and move for a couple of angles on the tower, explaining both the design and the local reaction to it. Questions are welcome throughout, and I send a short note once we finish.
This suits anyone interested in contemporary architecture and how cities receive it. It also pairs well with a session on the Disseny Hub building nearby.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
