About this tour
This session explains how Switzerland's federal government works, starting on the terrace behind the Bundeshaus and finishing at the Käfigturm gate a short distance away. You see the dome and carved facade of parliament, the wide terrace view over the Aare, and the tower once used as a prison. Matthias uses the buildings themselves to explain how sessions in parliament actually run.
He starts on the terrace, giving the view its own few minutes before turning to the building itself. The pace stays measured throughout, since the subject rewards precision more than speed, and questions come in as they arrive rather than at fixed intervals.
This suits anyone curious about Swiss politics beyond the postcard version of Bern. It also works for a longer stay that wants one substantial session rather than several short ones.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
