  • A river drop rebuilt after repeated floods
  • The gorge narrowest at its midpoint
  • Water calming the moment the rock opens

About this tour

This longer session follows the full length of Vintgar Gorge, from the narrow entrance to the calmer water at the far exit. You see the wooden walkway built in the 1890s still tracing the river's edge, the point where the rock closes in tightest, and a bend where the water drops over stone. It stays on the walkway the entire way.

I move at a steady pace with the river, pausing longer wherever the sound or the light changes, and I take questions at each stop rather than while moving.

This suits anyone who enjoys a longer, quieter nature walk over a short city session. It also suits viewers curious about how a Victorian-era walkway has survived over a century of floods.

Included

  • Live video walk with a local guide
  • Questions to your guide all the way
  • A short list of places to visit later

Not included

  • Internet connection
  • Travel to the city

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 10 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Bled before heading out.

  2. Gorge Entrance 21 min

You see the Radovna river narrow suddenly into rock, and I explain why the wooden walkway built in the 1890s still follows almost the same route today.

  3. Mid-Gorge Walkway 21 min

The camera moves along the narrowest stretch of walkway, and I point out how the sound of the water changes as the rock walls close in on either side.

  4. The Waterfall Bend 21 min

We reach a bend where the river drops over rock, and I explain how the walkway was rebuilt more than once after flood damage over the decades.

  5. Gorge Exit 21 min

The walkway opens out again near the far end, and I describe how the river calms almost immediately once it clears the narrow rock section.

  6. Your questions 18 min

Time to ask anything about Bled: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  7. A short list to keep 8 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Štruklji and Zaka, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Ljubljana time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

Questions about this tour

What will the session cover?

The guide walks through Bled, showing you Gorge Entrance and Mid-Gorge Walkway live on camera, plus whatever else you would like to see.

What happens if my connection drops?

Rejoin with the same link within a few minutes and the guide will catch you up on anything you missed.

Can I ask the guide questions during the session, or is it a fixed script?

Anything, any time. Sessions leave room for your own questions throughout, not just at the end.

How it works

  • You get one join link after booking.
  • Join from any device: phone, tablet or laptop.
  • We meet on Google Meet just before the gorge entrance. I keep the phone angled toward the river so the water stays in frame along the walk.

Times shown in Ljubljana time (CET)

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
