Yalıkavak's windmill and marina walk
Highlights
- A restored windmill above Yalıkavak
- Boutiques and yachts, newly built
- Stone lanes behind the marina
- Old and new sitting side by side
- A fishing village's recent growth
About this tour
This session climbs to a restored windmill above Yalıkavak before walking down into its newer marina and the older village lanes behind it. You see the windmill itself, the boutiques and yachts of the modern harbour, and the stone houses that came before any of it. Selin explains how the three different eras sit side by side in one village.
The call begins with a sound check at the windmill, then follows the walk down toward the marina and into the older lanes. Selin points out the contrast between old and new as she goes and sends a short note afterwards on the village's recent growth.
This suits anyone curious about how a small fishing village became one of the peninsula's most developed marinas. It also works well for viewers comparing different parts of the coast.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
