Tîmpa's forest trail, on foot
Highlights
- A forest trail above the old town
- A clearing framed by trees
- A ridge above the whole city
- Tîmpa's wooded slopes, on foot
- A longer, quieter route uphill
About this tour
This session climbs Mount Tîmpa on foot through the forest covering its slopes, rather than by cable car. You follow a wooded path, reach a clearing with a view over the old town's rooftops through the trees, and finish along the upper ridge. The session covers a longer, quieter route than the cable car session.
We open with a short sound check at the trailhead. I keep a steady, unhurried pace through the forest and take questions as we climb. Afterwards I send a short note on the trail for anyone wanting to walk it themselves.
This suits anyone wanting a longer, more active session than a quick viewpoint visit. It also works well as a contrast to the cable car session.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 7 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Brasov before heading out.
-
Into the forest 21 min
The camera follows a path into the forest covering Tîmpa's slopes, and I explain how the hill has stayed wooded despite the city growing up around it.
-
A quiet clearing 21 min
We reach a clearing partway up, and I point out a viewpoint over the old town's rooftops through the trees.
-
The upper ridge 21 min
The route finishes along the upper ridge, and I name the surrounding hills visible from this height.
-
Your questions 14 min
Time to ask anything about Brasov: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 6 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Mici (grilled meat rolls) and Old Town (Cetate), worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Bucharest time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
