About this tour
This session is a Hungarian food walk built around the Great Market Hall. The camera moves from stalls of paprika, salami and pickles to a lángos stand, then a family restaurant serving goulash soup and túrós csusza, and finishes at a stall twisting chimney cake over coals. Each stop follows an actual meal from market to table.
After a sound check, the walk runs the four stops in the order a meal would build across a day, with the guide taking questions between courses rather than at the very end. A written list of the dishes and where to find them goes out once the call closes.
This suits anyone planning to eat their way through Budapest and wanting a shortlist before they arrive. It also suits someone who already knows Hungarian food and enjoys watching it made and explained in detail.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 10 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Budapest before heading out.
-
Great Market Hall 21 min
Inside the city's largest and oldest indoor market, the camera moves past stalls stacked with paprika, salami and pickles, and the guide explains which grade of paprika actually goes into a proper goulash.
-
Lángos stall 21 min
At a lángos stall, the camera watches the fried dough come off the pan, topped with sour cream and cheese, while the guide explains why this is considered a market snack rather than a meal.
-
Family restaurant 21 min
At a family-run restaurant, the camera follows a pot of goulash soup and a plate of túrós csusza, the kind of dish the guide says every Hungarian grandmother makes slightly differently.
-
Kürtőskalács stand 21 min
The last stop is a stand twisting kürtőskalács, the chimney cake, over open coals, and the guide pairs it with a glass of Tokaji while explaining why the two are often served together.
-
Your questions 18 min
Time to ask anything about Budapest: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 8 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Lángos and Jewish Quarter (Erzsébetváros), worth a slower look.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
