About this tour
This session moves from the landscaped ponds of the castle park to the point where Cēsis meets Gauja National Park. You see how the 19th-century park was designed around the water, then reach the tree line where the valley and its sandstone begin. It is a short look at where a small town borders one of Latvia's biggest protected landscapes.
I start with a sound check by the ponds, then walk toward the park edge, pausing at the sandstone for a longer look before questions. A short note on the wider Gauja valley follows by message afterwards.
It suits anyone interested in landscape and geology alongside town history. It also works well before a longer visit to the national park itself.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
