About this tour
This session looks at Cologne in layers, from the cathedral and the Shrine of the Three Kings inside it, to the Roman gate outside and the Praetorium and MiQua ruins beneath the town hall. The camera moves from the Gothic building above ground to the Roman and medieval city below it. The guide explains how each layer survived, or was rediscovered, over two thousand years.
The call begins with a short sound check, then moves from the cathedral down through the older layers of the city, with time for questions along the way. A short list of the sites and what lies beneath each one follows by message afterwards.
This suits anyone interested in history that goes back further than it first appears, whether planning a visit to Cologne or simply curious from home. It also works for anyone who wants context before or after seeing the cathedral for themselves.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
