About this tour

This session moves through three or four bars in the Judería as the evening service begins, showing how tapas culture actually works from behind the counter rather than from a menu. You watch the salmorejo poured and see how a small plate arrives with almost every drink. The final stop reaches a historic tavern on Plaza del Potro as it fills for the night.

We start with a sound check outside the first bar, then move bar to bar as the evening builds, pausing longer wherever the owner has a moment to say a line or two. I answer questions about ingredients as we go, and send a short list of the dishes shown once the call wraps up.

This suits food-minded travellers curious about tapas culture beyond the plate itself, and anyone planning their own evening out who wants a sense of the pace first. It runs later in the day to match how the city actually eats.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 7 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Cordoba before heading out.

  2. A tiled tapas bar 21 min

The camera settles on a bar counter covered in small plates as the evening crowd starts to arrive, and I explain how the tapas tradition here grew out of covering a glass of wine with a slice of food.

  3. The salmorejo pour 21 min

You watch the thick, chilled tomato and bread soup poured from a jug into a bowl, topped with chopped egg and ham, and I explain why it is thicker than gazpacho by design.

  4. A late bar in Plaza del Potro 21 min

The camera reaches an old tavern on the square once mentioned in Don Quixote, and I point out the worn wooden beams that have watched the same routine for centuries.

  5. Your questions 14 min

Time to ask anything about Cordoba: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 6 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Salmorejo and Centro, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

Questions about this tour

What will the session cover?

The guide walks through Cordoba, showing you A tiled tapas bar and The salmorejo pour live on camera, plus whatever else you would like to see.

What happens if my connection drops?

Rejoin with the same link within a few minutes and the guide will catch you up on anything you missed.

Can I ask the guide questions during the session, or is it a fixed script?

Anything, any time. Sessions leave room for your own questions throughout, not just at the end.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
