About this tour

This session traces Roman Córdoba from the standing columns of the Templo Romano to the bridge across the Guadalquivir, showing what actually survives from the city's earliest centuries under the later Moorish and Christian layers. You see how the temple's fragments were pieced back together during 20th-century building work. The route is short but the two stops carry real weight.

The call starts with a minute to settle the connection near the temple, then a walk down toward the river with a pause partway to explain how the street level has risen over two thousand years. I keep pace steady and answer questions as we move rather than at the end.

This suits history-minded travellers who want the layer under the Mezquita, not instead of it. It also works well as a first session for anyone building a longer look at the city across several calls.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Cordoba before heading out.

  2. Templo Romano 21 min

You see the standing columns of a 1st-century Roman temple beside the town hall, re-erected from fragments found during building work, and I explain how the city once sat higher than street level today.

  3. The Roman bridge 21 min

The camera reaches the bridge itself, rebuilt many times since antiquity but still following its original Roman line across the Guadalquivir, and I point out the surviving arch shapes from different centuries.

  4. Your questions 9 min

Time to ask anything about Cordoba: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 4 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Mazamorra and Judería, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.
