About this tour

This session moves through one of the patios of San Basilio, the neighbourhood where residents fill their courtyards with potted flowers every spring, showing the well at the centre and the rings of colour arranged around it. You see how a working courtyard, not a showpiece, actually looks up close. It runs short so the detail stays the focus.

We begin with a quick check that the colours read well on camera, then move slowly around the patio, pausing at the well and again near the doorway. I take questions throughout about how the plants are kept alive through the summer heat, and send a short note on the tradition afterward.

This suits anyone drawn to gardens and craft traditions rather than monuments, or travellers visiting outside the main festival dates in May who still want to see a real patio. It also works well as a quieter session between busier history calls.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Cordoba before heading out.

  2. A San Basilio courtyard 15 min

The camera moves through a private courtyard packed with potted geraniums and carnations against whitewashed walls, and I explain how families in this quarter compete each May to fill every wall with colour.

  3. A well and a fountain 15 min

You see the old well at the centre of the patio, still the original water source for some houses, and I point out how the plants are arranged in rings that spiral outward from it.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Cordoba: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Pastel cordobés and San Basilio, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
