An evening at Triskel Christchurch
Highlights
- A deconsecrated church turned arts venue
- Original shape kept through conversion
- An old churchyard at street level
- Evening light on 18th-century stone
- Cork's working cultural spaces
About this tour
This session looks at how an 18th-century church became one of Cork's arts venues, seen in the evening light from its steps and churchyard. You see the building's original shape and the details kept from its earlier life as a place of worship. It moves slowly, spending real time on the exterior rather than covering more ground.
We open with a short sound check on the steps, then look closely at the building stop by stop before I explain its history and current programme. I take questions live, and I send a short note afterwards on upcoming events for anyone who wants to follow up.
It suits anyone interested in music, film or art venues, and anyone curious about how a church becomes a working cultural space.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
