The Uffizi's courtyard of statues
Highlights
- A courtyard lined with Florentine statues
- Figures explained one by one
- Context on a major collection, from outside
- An arcade built for exactly this purpose
- History read through who gets a statue
About this tour
This session stays in the Uffizi's outdoor courtyard rather than the galleries inside, since filming there is not possible. You see the long arcade lined with statues of notable Florentines, and one figure explained in detail. The camera moves slowly through the courtyard as it would on an actual visit.
We pause properly at a few statues rather than walking the whole courtyard quickly, since each figure has its own story. I describe specific works from the collection by name as we go, even without showing them directly, and take questions throughout.
It suits anyone who wants context on the Uffizi's collection before or instead of a museum visit. It also works well as a shorter session on its own.
Included

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Florence before heading out.
-
Courtyard arcade 21 min
The camera moves along the Uffizi's long courtyard, statues of famous Florentines lining both sides under the arcade.
-
Individual statue 21 min
Stopping at one statue, I explain who the figure was and why they were considered significant enough to stand here.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Florence: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Crostini di fegatini and San Lorenzo, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Rome time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
