Fethiye Mosque and the ruler's tomb
Highlights
- A mosque inside the inner citadel
- A powerful ruler's final resting place
- History explained from the courtyard
- Ottoman-era Epirus, up close
- One corner, a lot of history
About this tour
This session covers the mosque and tomb standing together inside Its Kale, tied to one of the region's most significant local rulers. You see the mosque's exterior from the courtyard and then the tomb monument beside it, with the ruler's story explained in full. It stays within this one corner of the citadel.
I explain the sequence of events slowly, since the history here surprises most first-time viewers. Detailed questions about the period come up often, and I do my best to answer them properly.
This suits anyone with a genuine interest in the region's Ottoman-era history. It also works well paired with the wider castle session for fuller context.

Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 11 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
