About this tour

This early call catches Mercado del Puerto in the hour before it is fully open, when fish and produce are still being arranged. Lucía walks from the market stalls to nearby Calle Mayor de Triana, tracing where some of that produce ends up by mid-morning. The session shows the practical side of the city's food supply rather than a finished plate.

Lucía starts inside the market with a short sound check among the early noise. She moves at a relaxed pace toward Triana, answering questions about specific stalls and dishes as they come, and sends a short list of what she pointed out once the call ends.

It suits anyone interested in where Canarian food actually starts rather than just where it is served. Early risers planning a longer stay will get a useful sense of the market's rhythm.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria before heading out.

  2. Mercado del Puerto 15 min

In the hour before most stalls fully open, the camera follows fish and produce being set out, and Lucía explains which stands supply the restaurants she trained in.

  3. Calle Mayor de Triana 15 min

A short walk from the market, the camera passes bars setting up for the day while Lucía points out which ones serve breakfast built around what just left the market.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Gofio and Puerto-Canteras, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Canary time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
