About this tour

This session is a new guide's first live walk, staying close to the lake at Parc de la Tête d'Or before moving into a quieter garden path nearby. You see the park in its early morning calm, an image Zoé has spent years photographing before ever showing it live. She keeps the route short and familiar as she gets used to guiding on camera.

The call opens with a sound check by the lake, then moves slowly toward the quieter path. Zoé takes one detail at a time rather than trying to cover the whole park, and welcomes every question even when she needs a moment to answer it properly. A short list of the stops follows by message afterwards.

This suits anyone happy to support a new guide finding her footing on camera. It also suits viewers who enjoy a personal, unpolished first look at a place.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Lyon before heading out.

  2. Park entrance and lake 15 min

The camera takes in the park's main lake, boats resting quietly near the shore this early in the day. I point out the path I have photographed most often over the years, before guiding here live.

  3. A quiet garden path 15 min

You see a quieter, tree-lined path away from the lake, fewer people around than near the main entrance. I explain why I chose this specific corner for my first live session.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Lyon: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Quenelles and Vieux Lyon, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Paris time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
